KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SHERIFF’S OFFICE <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: July 6, 2021 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Memorandum <br />of Understanding between Washington Traffic Safety Commission and the Kittitas <br />County Sheriff’s Office. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: The Washington Traffic Safety Commission (WTSC) supports the <br />Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) program by providing funds for overtime work to <br />perform drug evaluation activities of registered DREs. The WTSC has agreed to fund <br />overtime for DREs who enter this partnership by virtue of a Memorandum of <br />Understanding (though it is effectively an interlocal agreement, in this case) for the <br />period of July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2023. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: This Memorandum of Understanding was reviewed and approved by <br />the Kittitas County Prosecutor’s Office. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Memorandum <br />of Understanding between Washington Traffic Safety Commission and the Kittitas <br />County Sheriff’s Office. <br /> <br />HANDLING: Please return 1 fully executed original back to KCSO. <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Command staff
