KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />July 6, 2021 <br />Request to set a Public Hearing for July 20, 2021 at <br />2:00 pm to consider a speed reduction on Barnes <br />Road between Brown Road and Hanson Road and <br />amend Kittitas County Code Chapter 10.08 Speed <br />Limits on County Roads. <br />BACKGROUND: Kittitas County Department of Public Works <br />received a request from residents to conduct a speed <br />study and consider a reduction of the posted 50 <br />MPH speed on Barnes Road between Brown Road <br />and Hanson Road (milepost 0.00 to milepost 0.78). <br />The speed study was conducted, and Public Works <br />is now requesting to set a Public Hearing to receive <br />public testimony and discuss the results of said <br />study. <br />INTERACTION: <br />Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Set a Public Hearing for July 20, 2021 at 2:00 pm to <br />consider a speed reduction on Barnes Road from <br />milepost 0.00 to milepost 0.78 and amend Kittitas <br />County Code Chapter 10.08 Speed Limits on <br />County Roads. <br />HANDLING: Return one Notice of Public Hearing to Public <br />Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Notice of Public Hearing <br />LEAD STAFF: Joshua Fredrickson, County Engineer <br />
