BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2021-___ <br />A RESOLUTIONUPDATING THE APPLICATION FEES FOR CURRENT USE CLASSIFICATION OF FARM AND AGRICULTURAL LANDS, AND DESIGNATED FOREST LANDS <br />WHEREAS:Kittitas County is authorized by RCW 84.34.030(2) to charge a reasonable processing fee for processing applications for current use classification of farm and agricultural lands, <br />if established by the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners; and <br />WHEREAS:In 1989, pursuant to Ordinance 89-12, the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners set $100.00 as the processing fee for applications for current use classification of farm and <br />agricultural lands; and <br />WHEREAS:There has been a significant increase since 1989 in the costs (specifically staff time and recording fees) of processing current use classification applications for farm and <br />agricultural lands; and <br />WHEREAS:The Kittitas County Board of Commissioners and Assessor have determined the actual, current cost to Kittitas County of processing each application for the current use farm and <br />agricultural classification to be Four Hundred Dollars ($400.00);and <br />WHEREAS:Kittitas County is authorized by RCW 84.33.130(2) to charge a reasonable processing fee for processing applications forclassification asdesignated forest land, if established <br />by the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners;and <br />WHEREAS:In 2002, pursuant to Resolution 2002-13, the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners set $100.00 as the processing fee for applications for classification as designated forest <br />land; <br />WHEREAS:There has been a significant increase since 2002 in the costs (specifically staff time and recording fees) of processing designated forest land classification applications; and <br />WHEREAS:The Kittitas County Board of Commissioners and Assessor have determined the actual, current cost to Kittitas County of processing each application for the designated forest land <br />classification to be Four Hundred Dollars ($400.00); and <br />WHEREAS:Kittitas County strives to implement reasonable fees to minimize the impact ofprocessing permits to the taxpayer's general fund which supports more general governmentservices; <br />NOW, THEREFOREBE IT RESOLVED:the Kittitas County Board of CountyCommissioners hereby amend the fees set by Ordinance 89-12 and Resolution 02-13 as follows: <br />The Kittitas County Board of CountyCommissioners, following the recommendation of the Assessor,authorize the collection of a non-refundable fee of $400.00, to becollected at time of <br />application, for current use classification of farm and agricultural lands (as authorized by RCW 84.34.030(2)), and designated forest lands (as authorized by RCW 84.33.130(2)).
