<br />RESOLUTION TO RESCIND THE KITTITAS COUNTY COVID-19 DECLARATION
<br />OF EMERGENCY
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, On March 6, 2020 Kittitas County declared an emergency due to COVID-19. On
<br />that date, activation of the emergency plans and utilization of emergency powers
<br />granted pursuant to RCW 38.52 and 36.40.180 for the relief of a stricken
<br />community overtaken by a calamity, and RCW 36.32.270 and RCW 39.04.280,
<br />which allow for competitive bids to be waived in the event of the emergency, and
<br />Kittitas County Code was implemented; and
<br />WHEREAS, Kittitas County recognizes the continued impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on
<br />our county and distinguishes the difference between the necessary emergency
<br />response in 2020 with the current established response, which no longer requires
<br />an emergency declaration to access additional resources and expedite government
<br />processes; and
<br />WHEREAS, Kittitas County has established formal processes and agreements for prevention
<br />efforts, outreach methods, data collection, planning and assessment of the COVID-
<br />19 pandemic; and
<br />WHEREAS, large scale endeavors such as mass vaccination sites are being demobilized. Local
<br />providers will continue offering vaccines; and
<br />WHEREAS, Kittitas County is no longer at risk of overwhelming local response capabilities due
<br />to increased personnel and systems in place to respond to COVID-19 including
<br />access to vaccinations; and
<br />WHEREAS, this was all accomplished because of our “all hands-on deck” response from our
<br />community. With the support and collaboration of our community partners,
<br />agencies and volunteers who have responded to and provided necessary services
<br />and support to mitigate the impact of this deadly disease. Kittitas County
<br />recognizes:
