AGENDA DATE: June 15, 2021
ACTION REQUESTED: Requesting Approval of Contract No. K2213 between the Washington State
Conservation Commission and Kittitas County for Continuing Implementation of
the Voluntary Stewardship Program
BACKGROUND: In 2011, the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners approved an ordinance electing
to participate in the Voluntary Stewardship Program. This ordinance elected to have
Kittitas County proceed with implementation of the requirements of the Voluntary
Stewardship Program once the Washington State Legislature provides adequate
funding for such activity. The Washington State Legislature has appropriated
Voluntary Stewardship funds for the 2021-2023 budget for implementation of the
Voluntary Stewardship Program.
The attached contract between Washington State Conservation Commission and
Kittitas County would provide for implementation and funding of the Voluntary
Stewardship Program between July 1, 2021 and June 30, 2023.
The proposed contract has received legal review from the Kittitas County
Prosecutor’s Office.
INTERACTION: CDS, Prosecuting Attorney, Board of County Commissioners
ATTACHMENTS: 2021-2023 Biennium Contract No. K2213 Between The Washington State
Conservation Commission and Kittitas County.

RECOMMENDATION: CDS recommends that the Board of County Commissioners approve the contract and
authorize the Chair to sign the contract.
