KITTITAS COUNTY <br />CDS STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM, WEBEX <br />Regular Meeting <br />MONDAY 1:30 PM May 24, 2021 <br />Board members present via WebEx: Chairman Brett Wachsmith, <br />Commissioner Laura Osiadacz and Commissioner Cory Wright. <br />Others via WebEx: Dan Carlson, Community Development Services; <br />Mark Cook, Joshua Fredrickson, Nicole Ogan, Candie Leader and <br />Rebecca Cruse, Public Works; Neil Caulkins, Prosecuting <br />Attorney; and two (2) members of the public. <br />At 1:40 pm Chairman Wachsmith opened the Community Development <br />Services Study Session. <br />APRIL RESIDENTIAL BUILDING PERMIT ACTIVITY <br />CDS Director Dan Carlson provided Aprils residential building <br />permit activity presentation. Update provided for permit <br />submittals and permits issued. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION BYLAWS UPDATE <br />CDS Director Dan Carlson provided update on progress of the <br />Planning Commission. Recommendation from Prosecuting Attorney <br />Caulkins is to create an ordinance that highlights the history <br />and includes the bylaws and then brought before the Board of <br />County Commissioners to approve. CDS Director Carlson shared a <br />suggestion to meet RCW 36.70.090(2) for a seven -member <br />commission and how to stagger their terms. Commissioner Wright <br />questioned why District 1 had three members. Director Carlson <br />stated there is discussion regarding making one of those an at <br />large member. The Planning Commission will be making a <br />recommendation regarding the bylaws to bring back to the Board <br />of County Commissioners. <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br />There is no other business. <br />Meeting adjourned at 1:52 p.m. <br />2021-5-24 MINUTES 1 <br />
