KITTITAS COUNTY <br />EC STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM,205 WEST 5TH ROOM 108 -ELLENSBURG <br />Regular Meeting <br />WEDNESDAY 10:00 AM May 12,2021 <br />Board members present:Chair Brett Wachsmith,Commissioner Laura Osiadacz -both via <br />WebEx <br />Others:Kady Porterfield (Event Center Director),Lacie Dawson (Event Center program <br />Manager);Morgan Peck (member of the Public)-all via WebEx <br />1.Call to Order 10:00am <br />2.General Event and Rental Updates <br />Bares and Broncs is taking place this weekend.KVEC has also been hosting business <br />meetings,plant sales and the vaccine clinic -which will phase out May to June <br />3.Approve Agreement with Kittitas County Friends of the Fair Foundation <br />The Friends of the Fairgrounds will be taking over the livestock sale this year. <br />Commissioner Osiadacz made a motion to approve the PSA with Kittitas County Friends of <br />the Fair Foundation.Chairman Wachsmith seconded.Motion passes 2-0. <br />4.Patriot Night Under the Lights Concert Updates <br />The concert is moving forward.Kady met with Dr.Larson on Monday and everything is <br />looking good so far.Ticket sales will start on Monday (hopefully).Capacity is limited to <br />25%per section (currently)and may expand.Kady is working with our sponsorship <br />coordinator to bring sponsors onboard.The fireworks show will not be financially feasible <br />this year.Party pods and the beer garden will be on the arena floor.The pods will allow up <br />to 8 people per pod and everyone must be 21 or older for that section.The boxed seats will <br />be family friendly seating. <br />5.Discuss Letter of Support for Wilson Creek Project <br />Kady met with John Morrow from the City of Ellensburg to discuss Wilson Creek.Morrow <br />had completed designs but needs to redo them due to the current flooding.The city is <br />applying for a grant with the DOE,the project would not cost the county anything.Kady <br />will need a letter of support from the BOCC. <br />6.Discuss State Parks ground and John Wayne Trail <br />2021-05-12 MINUTES 1
