BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF'WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO.2O2I - <br />AWARD SURFACE TRANSPORTATION BLOCK FT]NDS TO THE CITY OF' <br />ELLENSBURG AND TO THE CITY OF CLE ELUM <br />WHEREAS: Federal Transportation Funding is available to local agencies via the Surface <br />Transportation Block Grant (STBG) program administered by Kittitas County <br />Department of Public Works; and <br />WHEREAS: Funding availability in the current two-year cycle of STBG funding allows for <br />reinvestment by the Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners; and <br />WHEREAS: A Surface Transportation Block Grant application has been received from the <br />City of Ellensburg and from the City of Cle Elum; and <br />WHEREAS: The total money available for award to be obligated by August 31, 2021 from <br />STBG funding is $372,401.00; <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the best <br />interest of the public, does hereby award to the City of Ellensburg $127,550.00 in <br />Surface Transportation Block Grant funds supporting the signalization of <br />University Way at Reecer Creek Road; and <br />FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the best interest of the <br />public, does hereby award to the City of Cle Elum $224,009.00 in Surface <br />Transportation Block Grant funds supporting the design of a non-motorized <br />walking and rolling pathway along Second Street from Stafford Avenue to Short <br />Avenue. <br />DATED on this lst day of June 2021, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />BOARD OF COLINTY <br />COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS CO , WASHINGTON <br />Brett Chairman <br />TN Y <br />II <br />coi',,. <br />'..'q, '/, <br />".'?r 1,'.'(O -- <br />. a)= <br />Board- Julie Kjorsvik <br />c8T <br />KOLaMs z, Vice-Chairman <br />z <br />m.D <br />O) <br />llilnill <br />n Deputy Clerk of the Board- Mandy Buchholz <br />Commissioner
