RESOLUTION NO.2O2I -
AWARD SURFACE TRANSPORTATION BLOCK FT]NDS TO THE CITY OF'
ELLENSBURG AND TO THE CITY OF CLE ELUM
WHEREAS: Federal Transportation Funding is available to local agencies via the Surface
Transportation Block Grant (STBG) program administered by Kittitas County
Department of Public Works; and
WHEREAS: Funding availability in the current two-year cycle of STBG funding allows for
reinvestment by the Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners; and
WHEREAS: A Surface Transportation Block Grant application has been received from the
City of Ellensburg and from the City of Cle Elum; and
WHEREAS: The total money available for award to be obligated by August 31, 2021 from
STBG funding is $372,401.00;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the best
interest of the public, does hereby award to the City of Ellensburg $127,550.00 in
Surface Transportation Block Grant funds supporting the signalization of
University Way at Reecer Creek Road; and
FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the best interest of the
public, does hereby award to the City of Cle Elum $224,009.00 in Surface
Transportation Block Grant funds supporting the design of a non-motorized
walking and rolling pathway along Second Street from Stafford Avenue to Short
Avenue.
