AGENDA DATE: May 18, 2021
ACTION REQUESTED: Requesting Approval of an Ordinance Adopting Amendments to the
Kittitas County Shoreline Master Program and KCC Title 17B.
BACKGROUND: RCW 90.58.080(4) requires Kittitas County to periodically review and, if
necessary, revise the County Shoreline Master Program (SMP) on or
before June 30, 2021
The Board of County Commissioners held a virtual public hearing on May
4, 2021 to hear public testimony on the proposed SMP updates.
The Board voted 3-0 to approve the proposed amendments to the SMP and
KCC Title 17B. The Board directed staff to prepare the documents for
signature at the May 18, 2021 agenda session.
INTERACTION: Community Development Services, Prosecuting Attorney and Board of
County Commissioners.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the ordinance regarding Kittitas County’s proposed Shoreline
update as shown in the attachments to the ordinance (Exhibits A, B, C, D,
and E) upon approval from the Washington State Department of Ecology.
