5/7/21 MINUTES 1 <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON WEBEX SPECIAL MEETING <br /> FRIDAY 4:00 P.M. MAY 7, 2021 <br />Board members present via Webex: Chairman Brett Wachsmith, Vice- <br />Chairman Laura Osiadacz, and Commissioner Cory Wright. <br /> <br />Others via Webex: Taylor Crouch, Administrative Assistant; Judy <br />Pless, Budget and Finance Manager; and Nick Henderson, Coroner. SPECIAL MEETING REGIONAL MORGUE COMMISSIONERS <br />At 4:09 p.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened a special meeting to discuss <br />a regional morgue with the Coroner’s Office. <br /> <br />Nick Henderson, Coroner explained that there was talk among <br />Washington Coroners about the need for a regional morgue. The idea <br />of Ellensburg being centrally located with an airport and college <br />made it an optimal location. There is a parcel of land out by the <br />Airport that is seen as optimal ground. Mr. Henderson asked the <br />Board for a budget amendment to start the permitting process for <br />this land. <br /> <br />The Board asked for more preliminary planning to be completed first <br />and offered to help Mr. Henderson along the process. There may be <br />grants available for this project.
