COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON

REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY 9:00 A.M. MAY 3, 2021
Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith; Commissioner Cory
Wright and Vice-Chairman Laura Osiadacz.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Administrative Supervisor; Julie Kjorsvik,
Clerk of the Board; Taylor Crouch, Admin Assistant; Lisa Young, HR
Director; George Long, KITTCOM Director; Judy Pless, Budget &
Finance Director.
SPECIAL MEETING OFFICE STAFF MEETING COMMISSIONERS
At 9:00 a.m. Chairman Osiadacz opened the Office Administration
meeting.
CALENDAR WEEK AT A GLANCE COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed their weekly calendar.
PAF/VOUCHERS REVIEW OF PAF’S & VOUCHERS COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners approved and signed County
Employee Personnel Action forms and vouchers.
CORRESPONDENCE LOG REVIEW OF CORRESPONDENCE LOG COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed the weekly Correspondence
Log, a listing of all incoming mail and correspondence for the week
ending April 30, 2021.
APPOINTMENT PLANNING COMMISSION COMMISSIONERS
Mandy Buchholz, Administrative Supervisor presented three
applications (Holly Merrill, Scott Carlson & Warren Taylor) for the
Board to consider for appointment to the two vacant seats on the
County Planning Commission. Commissioner Wright moved to appoint
Warren Taylor, for terms effective immediately (term expire
12/31/2024) and Scott Carlson (term to expire 12/31/2025) to the
Kittitas County Planning Commission District One vacancies for four-
year terms. Vice-Chairman Osiadacz seconded. Motion carried 3-0.
APPOINTMENT BOWLING ALLEY COMMITTEE COMMISSIONERS
N/A no RFP’s were received, so there will not be a Committee formed.

DISCUSSION AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN ACT COMMISSIONERS
Judy Pless, Budget & Finance Director stated that she has been
checking the website and there are still no guidelines. She stated
that on the Agenda for May 18, 2021, she will have the Board create
a new fund for it. Once there are guidelines she will work on a
meeting with the Board but felt a similar process as the last time
would work well.
FORM DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE COMMISSIONERS
Vice-Chairman Osiadacz moved to approve Chair signature on the
Department of Revenue Tax & License Clause Confidentiality Agreement
for George Long, Kittcom Director. Commissioner Wright seconded.
Motion carried 3-0.
DISCUSSION RECRUITMENT COMMITTEE COMMISSIONERS
Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board questioned if the Board wanted
any additional BoCC Staff on the Recruitment Committee’s for the
Auditor’s Office Budget & Finance Director position. Commissioner
Wright stated he would like to take a step back and discuss what is
being recruited for. He stated that Commissioner Osiadacz was gone
last week and wanted to see what her thoughts were on how and what
the recruitment process is moving forward. Lisa Young, HR Director
suggested that a separate meeting take place for the Board to
discuss this with Jerry Pettit, Auditor present.
UPDATE BOCC/ DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS COMMISSIONERS
Each Commissioner was assigned three different Department Heads to
meet with on a weekly basis. The assignments for 2021 were
determined at the Board of County Commissioners Office Admin meeting
on 1-11-2021.
Each Commissioner reviewed discussions held with their respective
departments and exchanged details of those meetings.
DISCUSSION FACEBOOK WEEKLY POSTS COMMISSIONERS
The Board determined for the week of May 3, 2021 they would post on
their Facebook page about the Restaurant Revitalization Plan thru
the American Rescue Plan Act.
OTHER BUSINESS/GENERAL UPDATES
There were general updates on meetings & conversations that the
Board participated in, individually over the past week.
