KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SHERIFF’S OFFICE <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: May 4, 2021 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve the Professional Services Agreement <br />between Kittitas County and Comprehensive Healthcare. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: This agreement is between Kittitas County and Comprehensive <br />Healthcare to have a full-time mental health counselor at the Kittitas County Jail. This <br />contract is $124.024 with a 3% increase each year. It is set to begin May of 2021. The <br />counselor will provide screening of inmates within 72 hours of booking, most often 24 <br />hours of booking, provide assessments on inmates with mental health treatment needs, <br />group treatment as available, assist the comprehensive medical provider, evaluate any <br />inmate with a mental health or substance use disorder crisis with Comprehensive’s <br />Designated Crisis Responders, make referrals to community providers to promote a <br />reduced risk of recidivism, make referrals to providers in the inmate’s community of <br />residence, and provide warm handoff referrals when possible. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: The Kittitas County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has reviewed and <br />approved. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Request to Approve the Professional Services Agreement <br />between Kittitas County and Comprehensive Healthcare. <br /> <br />HANDLING: Return one fully executed original to the Sheriff’s Office. <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Command Staff
