COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON WEBEX SPECIAL MEETING
WEDNESDAY 2:30 P.M. APRIL 14, 2021
Board members present via Webex: Chairman Brett Wachsmith; Vice-
Chairman Laura Osiadacz; and Commissioner Cory Wright.
Others via Webex: Taylor Crouch, Administrative Assistant; Jim
Goeben, IT director; Doug Fessler, Network Administrator; Mark Cook,
Public Works Director, and 8 members of the public. SPECIAL MEETING BROADBAND PRESENTATION COMMISSIONERS
At 2:30 p.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened a Special Meeting to have a
presentation from CenterFuse on Broadband in the County.
LETTER SUPPORT FOR FISH COMMISSIONERS
Peggy Morache, Executive Director of FISH asked the Board for their
support on a letter for a grant to Representative Kim Schrier.
Commissioner Osiadacz moved to approve Board signature on a Letter
of Support for FISH to Congresswoman Kim Schrier. Commissioner
Wright seconded. Motion carried 3-0.
PRESENTATION BROADBAND PRESENTATION COMMISSIONERS
Linda Schactler, Vice Chair for CenterFuse reviewed the PowerPoint
on Broadband in the County to the Commissioners. There was review of
the positive and negatives for the topic on the County. The
Commissioners thanked everyone on the call for their work on
bringing this forward as the last year highlighted the need for this
service in the community. The Board was able to ask clarifying
questions. The next identified step by this group was to start a
Broadband Action Team with key community stakeholders. There was
discussion on the Commissioner representative for the Action Team.
Commissioner Wright proposed that he be the lead for this Action
Team.
