STATE OF'WASHINGTON
RESOLUTION APPROVING
RESOLUTION No. 2021- 058
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners enacted Resolution 2019-118, a copy
of which is attached hereto and incorporated by this reference, addressing the need for and
implementation of training for all county employees pertaining to records management and the
processing of requests pursuant to the Public Records Act; and
WHEREAS, in that Resolution the Board of County Commissioners accepted the
recommendations of the Records Management Committee for the content and scheduling of that
training; and
WHEREAS' subsequent to the adoption of that Resolution the world has experienced a
pandemic; and
WHEREAS, the resulting changes in the county working environment for many
employees has resulted in making in-person training impractical and unsafe; and
WHERI'AS, these changes do not eliminate the need for the training described, but do
require changes in the method of delivery; and
WHEREAS, the Records Management Committee caused the recording of live sessions
in2019; and
WHEREAS, use of those recorded training sessions will allow for remote individual
training delivered by use of the County computer network consistent with the safety needs
refemed to above and familiar to most employees;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Board of County
Commissioners of Kittitas County, Washington authorizes modification of the processes directed
in Resolution20lg-ll8 to allow the Records Management Committee to provide the required
training by use of the above referenced remote individual training until modified by a further
Resolution of the Board. The same mandates for attendance as required in Resolution 2019-llg
shall apply to this computer delivered training, except that all impacted personnel as listed in the
final paragraph of that Resolution shall complete the training applicable to their position not later
than December2l,2021.
