AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: April 20, 2021
ACTION REQUESTED: Adopt the presented Records Management Resolution
regarding training on Public Records Act requests and
Records Management.
BACKGROUND: The Board had previously adopted a resolution at the
recommendation of the RMC mandating regular training on
these topics as a management tool to maximize
performance and minimize liability exposure.
INTERACTION: The RMC on its own initiative considered the impact of the
current pandemic on the ability to comply with the terms of
the previously adopted Resolution. After doing so, assigned
counsel for the RMC was directed to draft a proposal that
reflects the current circumstances. Given the difficulty of
predicting the future ability to conduct training and the
possibility of changes in the manner in which the training
may be presented, a subsequent resolution will be needed in
2022. The current proposed Resolution has been reviewed
and approved by the RMC membership.
RECOMMENDATION: Review the proposed Resolution and adopt it as written.

Records Management Training Schedule.
