AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: 04/20/21
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of
Option of Renewal between Kittitas County and Summit Food Services.
BACKGROUND: Kittitas County has had a Professional Services Operating Agreement
with Summit Food Services (Summit), formerly known as Consolidated Food
Management, Inc. since 2011, for the management and operation of the food service
program at the Kittitas County Jail. Summit has expressed its desire to extend the period
of the agreement an additional year in a letter dated retro -actively to January 21, 2021. In
this letter they also indicate that meal rates will increase by 2.5% cost per meal over the
previous year, based on cost of living increases according to the Consumer Price Index.
INTERACTION: The Kittitas County Prosecuting Attorney's Office has reviewed and
approved.
RECOMMENDATION: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of
Option of Renewal between Kittitas County and Summit Food Services.
HANDLING: Please return one signed original to the Kittitas County Sheriff's Office,
which we will furnish to the Contractor.
