AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: April 6, 2021
ACTION REQUESTED: Request Boards approval for Chairs signature on
Agreement No. OTGP -2021-KiCoSW-0050 with the
Department of Ecology.
BACKGROUND: The Solid Waste Department has received a grant for the
Department of Ecology to perform a Feasibility Study into Secondary Recycling Markets.
This grant is on one-time grant for $40,000 and is 100 percent reimbursable. These grant
funds must be spent by the end on June 2021.
For this grant Kittitas County Solid Waste is partnering with Central Washington
University, Yakima County and the Ellensburg Business Development Authority looking
at secondary recycling markets with and eye toward a regional comprehensive plan to
handle recyclable material and with the possibility of bringing jobs to our area.
INTERACTION: Solid Waste Department, and Department of Ecology.
RECOMMENDATION: Signature of the Chair.
HANDLING: Return two signed copies to the Solid Waste Department.
