KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />March 16, 2021 <br />Request to Approve a Resolution to Award the <br />Contract for Supplying a 30' Steel Modular Bridge <br />and authorize the Public Works Director to execute <br />contract documents. <br />BACKGROUND: A commitment was entered into May 27, 2020, to <br />restore the agricultural access to property altered by <br />our Fairview Road Widening and Coleman Creek <br />Structures Project in 2020. Our commitment, part of <br />the right of way negotiation, was to supply and <br />install a structure to cross the newly aligned <br />Coleman Creek and restore the agricultural access. <br />On February 8, 2021, the Board approved a Notice <br />of Call for Sealed Bids for the supply of a 30' steel <br />modular bridge. The engineers estimate for the <br />structure was $38,000.00 to $43,000.00. <br />Bids were opened on February 25, 2021, and there <br />was a single bidder Contech Engineered Solutions. <br />The bid amount was $36,713.70. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve a Resolution to Award the Contract for <br />Supplying 30' Steel Modular Bridge and authorize <br />the Public Works Director to execute contract <br />documents. <br />HANDLING: Original - Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Bid Tab and Resolution <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark Cook <br />Director of Public Works <br />
