KITTITAS COUNTY <br />CDS STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM, WEBEX <br />Regular Meeting <br />MONDAY 1:30 PM March 8, 2021 <br />Board members present via WebEx: Chairman Brett Wachsmith, <br />Commissioner Laura Osiadacz and Commissioner Cory Wright. <br />Others via WebEx: Dan Carlson, Mike Flory, and Jessica Miller, <br />Community Development Services; Pat Nicholson and Ryan Mc <br />Allister, Fire Marshal; Mark Cook, Joshua Fredrickson, Nicole <br />Ogan, Rebecca Cruse and Candie Leader, Public Works; Neil <br />Caulkins, Prosecuting Attorney; and one (1) members of the <br />public. <br />At 1:45 pm Chairman Wachsmith opened the Community Development <br />Services Study Session. <br />FEBRUARY BUILDING PERMIT ACTIVITY <br />CDS Director Dan Carlson presented PowerPoint with the <br />residential building permit applications and issued permits <br />activity for January and February of 2018-2021. Commissioner <br />Osiadacz asked if there was a projection if this increase would <br />continue throughout the year or if it was due to the code <br />change. Director Carlson stated he believes the increase in <br />permits will increase. <br />FIRE AND LIFE SAFETY INSPECTION VIDEO <br />CDS Director Dan Carlson presented Fire and Life Safety <br />Inspection video. Due to audio issues the link to the video will <br />be forwarded to the Commissioners after the meeting. Through the <br />SmartGov system, the Fire Marshal has been able to track what <br />the most common violations are. In January 2020 CDS entered into <br />a contract with Central Washington University video production <br />program to create a video of common violations and ways to <br />correct these violations. This video will be shared with our <br />businesses and posted on our website. The plan is to create more <br />videos on topics that would be a helpful tool for people. <br />Commissioner Osiadacz asked that when the videos get uploaded <br />2021-3-8 MINUTES 1 <br />
