AGENDA DATE: March 2nd, 2021
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Letter of Permission and Support to
the Kittitas County Historical Society for work in the
Ellensburg Cemetery.
BACKGROUND: Sadie Thayer reached out to the County for permission to
update 3 gravesites of Civil War Veterans in Block D-148
of the Ellensburg IOOF cemetery. The County found the
deed to the gravesites and drafted a letter of support for the
project being conducted by the Historical Society.
INTERACTION: The Auditor’s Office located the Deed to the gravesites,
certifying County ownership. Sadie requested permission
and support from the County which is required from IOOF
for the work to be completed. The Historical Society will
support the costs of this project and there will be no
additional cost to the County.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve a Letter of Permission and Support to the Kittitas
County Historical Society for work in the Ellensburg
Cemetery.
