COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON

SPECIAL MEETING
TUESDAY 9:00 A.M. FEBRUARY 16, 2021
Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith; Vice-Chairman Laura
Osiadacz & Commissioner Cory Wright.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Administrative Supervisor; Julie Kjorsvik,
Clerk of the Board; Jeanne Killgore, HR. Rep.
SPECIAL MEETING OFFICE STAFF MEETING COMMISSIONERS
At 9:00 a.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened the Office Administration
meeting.
CALENDAR WEEK AT A GLANCE COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed their weekly calendar.
PAF/VOUCHERS REVIEW OF PAF’S & VOUCHERS COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners approved and signed County
Employee Personnel Action forms and vouchers.
CORRESPONDENCE LOG REVIEW OF CORRESPONDENCE LOG COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed the weekly Correspondence
Log, a listing of all incoming mail and correspondence for the week
ending February 12, 2021.
RATIFY LETTER TO GOVERNOR INSLEE COMMISSIONERS
Commissioner Osiadacz moved to ratify Board signature on a letter to
Governor Inslee dated February 12, 2021, regarding a request for re-
evaluation of COVID Phase 2 status based on Public Health Data in
Kittitas County. Commissioner Wright seconded. Motion carried 3-0.
DISCUSSION EWCOG RESOLUTION/BYLAWS COMMISSIONERS
Commissioner Osiadacz stated that Staff had previously shared with
the Board the Bylaws and a DRAFT example Resolution for the Board’s
consideration. She stated that she attended one of the EWCOG
Meetings and it was really nice to network with Commissioners that
are dealing with similar issues. She stated that the last meeting
was primarily about the grey wolf population in the northern
counties. Commissioner Wright questioned what the dues are.
Commissioner Osiadacz stated that at this time there are none. She

stated that they have a secretary for the meeting as well. The Board
directed Commissioner Osiadacz to work with the Board’s Prosecutor
to draft a Resolution and review the Bylaws, to be considered at an
upcoming meeting.
FOLLOW UP PIO/DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSIONERS
Jeanne Killgore, HR Representative stated that she had sent updated
job descriptions to the Board for the now “Director of
Communications”. She stated that the re-title has been made and
confirmed with the Auditor’s Office that it’s a stand-alone
department. There was discussion on the supplemental exam questions
and the Board determined they would be modified a bit, by removing a
question. The Board directed Ms. Killgore to moved forward and post
the position, with the discussed changes.
UPDATE BOCC/ DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS COMMISSIONERS
Each Commissioner was assigned three different Department Heads to
meet with on a weekly basis. The assignments for 2021 were
determined at the Board of County Commissioners Office Admin meeting
on 1-11-2021.
Each Commissioner reviewed discussions held with their respective
departments and exchanged details of those meetings.
DISCUSSION FACEBOOK WEEKLY POSTS COMMISSIONERS
The Board determined for the week of February 15, 2021 they would
post on their Facebook a thank you to all the volunteers for their
time at the vaccine clinic’s; the Board’s legislative updates; and
the new committee’s they are working on recruitment.
OTHER BUSINESS/GENERAL UPDATES
There were general updates on meetings & conversations that the
Board participated in, individually over the past week.
