02/12/21 MINUTES 1 COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON WEBEX EMERGENCY/SPECIAL MEETING FRIDAY 9:00 A.M. FEBRUARY 12, 2021 Board members present via Webex: Chairman Brett Wachsmith; Vice- Chairman Laura Osiadacz; and Commissioner Cory Wright. Others via Webex: Taylor Crouch, Administrative Assistant; Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Greg Zempel, Prosecutor; Clay Myers, Sheriff; Dr. Mark Larson, Public Health Officer; Tristen Lamb, Public Health Administrator; Darren Higashiyama, Incident Management Team Commander; Chris Whitsett, Inspector; Neil Caulkins, Chief Civil Deputy; Bill Clarke, Kittitas County Lobbyist; Tom Dent, Washington State Representative; Kelli Scott, Congresswoman Kim Schrier’s Office; Cynthia Banuelos, Washington State Senator Warnick’s Office; Patricia Tenney, Washington State Representative Tom Dent’s Office; and 16 members of the public were present. SPECIAL MEETING EMERGENCY/SPECIAL MEETING COMMISSIONERS At 9:00 a.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened an Emergency/Special Meeting to have a discussion on Kittitas County’s current Phase on Governor Inslee's Roadmap to Recovery. There was open discussion on the County’s position in the South Central Region. Participants were able to ask questions about the vaccine rollouts in the County and what possible solutions there could be to move forward from Phase 1. There was collaborative effort to get messaging and letters out to the public and to the Governor’s Office. The BOCC agreed to put a Press Release out immediately following the meeting and that Commissioner Osiadacz would draft a letter from the BOCC, Sheriff, and Prosecutor to the Governor. The Legislators on the call said they would be drafting their own letter to the Governor stating a similar message.
