Cultural inierests also rate high in importance for Baby Boomers {64.8 percent) and Gen Xers (67.8 percent). More than two thirds of all Millennials also rated "authenticity" in experiences as extremely important. Racially diverse and technologically sawy, the Millennial generatron (born 1977-1994) - Americans for the Arls According to the Travel lndustry Association of America, roughly eighty percent of the 150,000,000+ adults udro travel more than fifty miles from their homes can be considered "cultural tourists." All efforts will also include the regions identified by the Chamber of King, Pierce, and Snohomish Counties. We have three tourism audience/markets that u€ will target: 1. Our target audience is self- identified arts lovers and cultural tourists, those that have a proven propensity lo aitend art eiribits and evenis but are not alvare of Gallery One. "l didn't know that there raas an arts center'in Ellensburg too, ule should go check out their studio tours!" The cultural tourist according to the 2018 Dean Runyan report averages $200/day in spending. 2. Our secondary audience is age specific, millennials. 73 percent of Millennials "v\Ent to engage a destination's arts and cultural assets"-the highest rated activity of importance. This generation is tech sawy and will be targeted through social media and online programming. 3. Our tertiary audience is comprised of those that are not traveling for specific arts experiences but do see art as a value added eperience. "We love to taste wine and I also heard that there are lots of galleries in Ellensburg." These are cr.rltural tourists that uould likely listen to NWPB, attend an arts event wiih a friend or need a secondary activity vrlrile their partner is fly-fishing, hiking or floating the Yakima River. V Direct Count (preferred) l- lndirect Count l/ Representative Survey ly' Informal Survey (preferred) l- Structured Estimate l- Other Hease explain. 1. We add up each visit (taken at the front desk) to the gallery, our events, our classes. ln 2019 u,e estimated that will total 25,732 visits. For 2021 \i€ are applying a 30% reduction to accommodate for lack of First Friday attendance and major events through June. 2. We review our Facebook demographics and Google analytics to undersland where our visitors are from. 3. We review our menrbership and nrailing list and see wlrere ihey are from. 4. We reviewa sample survey from the front desk that asks vrlrere visitors are from. 5. We compare the percentages of those from inside the county, out of the county, and out of the state. See aitachment. 6. We determine an average percentage of those from out of lhe state and out of the county and apply that to the overall number of visits. Out of state average of all numbers is 6% Out of county average is 32ok 7. We nrultiply our projection of visits by these numbers. Our projection for 2020 is 18,000 (roughly 30% less than 2019) 18,000 x .06= 1080 Out of state visitors 18000x .32 = 5760 out of county visitors B. We make a modest assumption thal 1 oLrt of 30 of these visitors (out of state plus out of county) wll pay for lodging for one night, (228 overnight stays) We have been using the same methodology since 2014 2500 character linit Application Questions: Part 5 SlFunding Does your organizalion have, or have you applied for, grant funding from other sources? lf not, why not? lf yes, please list the funding you have for the projecl, including any volunieer and in-kind sources in Question 9l Project Budget Overview.
