SERVING KITTCOM (KITTITAS COUNTY 911)
Kirriras 700 ELMVIEw ROAD
couNTr
KITTCOfir'F' \ ELLENSBURG, WASHINGTON 98926
—4 -- 509/925-8534 e FAx 509/925-8540
A GENDA REPORT
FEBRUARY 11 , 2021
TO: Board of County Commissioners
FROM: George Long, Director, 509-925-8530",
RE: E911 Agenda Item
ACTION: Consider E911 Contract for State FY2021 Amendment, #E21 -024A
BACKGROUND: By RCW, enhanced 9-1-1 services are a county obligation, which
Kittitas County delegates to KITTCOM. Each State Fiscal Year, the State obligates
funds to KITTCOM based on access line tax and grants from the State Enhanced 9-1-
1 Program Office for WAC eligible services. The current contract is for $316,236.
Recently the State, due to restrictions from COVID-19, were able to reallocate some
State funds to the State Enhanced 9-1-1 Program Office that allowed KITTCOM to
apply for extra funds for FY21. The addition is specific, as it is for no more than
$26,500 to be used to finish work on KITTCOM's Universal Power Supply (UPS)
system, which allows for continued operations of KITTCOM during a power outage.
INTERACTION: Contract E21 -024A for E911 operations is before the Board for
consideration.
RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Board Chairman to sign the Amended
Enhanced 9-1-1 contract with the Washington State Military Department.
HANDLING: Return two copies of the executed contract to the Military
Department along with a signature page.
ATTACHMENTS: A contract and signature page from the Washington State Military
Department.
We pledge to provide our customers with professional, courteous and reliable emergency communications.
Our goal is the preservation of life, property and public safety, by obtaining information,
giving the information to Emergency Services, and verifying its receipt.
