AGENDA DATE: February 16, 2021 Consent Agenda
ACTION REQUESTED: Seeking concurrence from the BoCC on newly drafted mission and
vision statements for Bowers Filed.
LEAD STAFF: Ken Grannan, Airport Director
BACKGROUND: Kittitas County Airport/Bowers Field is in the process of
developing a strategic plan with a 11-person subcommittee under
direction from AMCG (Aviation Management Consulting Group).
After completing a SWAT analysis and asset appraisal we were
tasked with developing appropriate Mission and Vision statements.
DISCUSSION: For presentation today are the draft Mission and Vision statements
as presented by the strategic plan subcommittee and AMCG.
Mission Statement:
• The Mission of Kittitas County Airport (Bowers Field) is:
To operate and develop the Airport and Industrial Park in
a safe and efficient manner to encourage the availability of
high-quality aviation and non-aviation products, services,
and facilities; support professional aviation education
programs; enhance the economic benefit for the County;
and support local and regional emergency preparedness.
Vision Statement:
• The Vision for the Kittitas County Airport (Bowers Field)
is: To be the leading Central Washington regional general
aviation airport that is a vital and self-sufficient center of
air transportation and economic activity.
INTERACTION: Strategic Planning Subcommittee, AMCG
RECOMMENDATION: Airport Staff is seeking concurrence from the BoCC that these
statements align with the perception and vision the county has for
the future of Bowers Field.
