KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: February 16, 2021 Consent Agenda <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Seeking concurrence from the BoCC on newly drafted mission and <br />vision statements for Bowers Filed. <br /> <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Ken Grannan, Airport Director <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: Kittitas County Airport/Bowers Field is in the process of <br />developing a strategic plan with a 11-person subcommittee under <br />direction from AMCG (Aviation Management Consulting Group). <br />After completing a SWAT analysis and asset appraisal we were <br />tasked with developing appropriate Mission and Vision statements. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION: For presentation today are the draft Mission and Vision statements <br />as presented by the strategic plan subcommittee and AMCG. <br /> <br />Mission Statement: <br />• The Mission of Kittitas County Airport (Bowers Field) is: <br />To operate and develop the Airport and Industrial Park in <br />a safe and efficient manner to encourage the availability of <br />high-quality aviation and non-aviation products, services, <br />and facilities; support professional aviation education <br />programs; enhance the economic benefit for the County; <br />and support local and regional emergency preparedness. <br /> <br />Vision Statement: <br />• The Vision for the Kittitas County Airport (Bowers Field) <br />is: To be the leading Central Washington regional general <br />aviation airport that is a vital and self-sufficient center of <br />air transportation and economic activity. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: Strategic Planning Subcommittee, AMCG <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Airport Staff is seeking concurrence from the BoCC that these <br />statements align with the perception and vision the county has for <br />the future of Bowers Field. <br /> <br />HANDLING: None <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: Letter to the Commissioners from AMCG
