CDS STUDY SESSION MINUTES

Regular Meeting
MONDAY 1:30 PM February 8, 2021
Board members present via WebEx: Chairman Brett Wachsmith,
Commissioner Laura Osiadacz and Commissioner Cory Wright.
Others via WebEx: Dan Carlson, Toni Berkshire, and Jessica
Miller Community Development Services; Arden Thomas, Darren
Case, Joshua Fredrickson and Candie Leader, Public Works; Neil
Caulkins, Prosecuting Attorney; and four (4) members of the
public.
At 1:34 pm Chairman Wachsmith opened the Community Development
Services Study Session.
JANUARY RESIDENTIAL BUILDING PERMIT ACTIVITY
CDS Director Dan Carlson presented a chart showing the increase
in the January Building Permit Applications submittals for new
residence structures for 2018-2021 that was collected from the
SmartGov software.
REVIEW DRAFT CODE LANGUAGE FOR KCC 18.01.060
CDS Director Dan Carlson presented the draft code language for
KCC 18.01.060, which was drafted by Deputy Prosecuting Attorney
Caulkins. Direction from the Board of County Commissioners to
work on the language to further define the ability to enter upon
private property.
SHORELINE MASTER PROGRAM (SMP) OVERVIEW
Director Dan Carlson provided an overview of the upcoming joint
public hearing between CDS and Department of Ecology regarding
the Shoreline Master Program. Long Range Planner Bridget Pechtel
will be presenting an overview of the changes at our next study
session.
