KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: February 2, 2021 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) sign a Resolution allocating $148,123.50 of Hotel/Motel Funds towards the 2021 Lodging Tax Fund Grants Program for <br />Special Events and Projects. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: The Cities of Ellensburg, Roslyn and Cle Elum along with Kittitas County have an Interlocal Agreement in place to create a consolidated lodging tax grant process for special <br />events and projects. They each signed an Amendment to the Interlocal Agreement stating each entity will dedicate 13% of their lodging tax funds to the Consolidated Lodging Tax process. <br /> The Consolidated Lodging Tax Advisory Committee Work Group met in an open public meeting on November 20, 2020 and deliberated to reach a final funding recommendation to be forwarded <br />to each entity’s legislative body for final approval. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: The Consolidated Work Group recommended expending $219,244.99 of lodging tax funding to be designated for special events and projects.
