1/27/21 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON WEBEX SPECIAL MEETING <br /> WEDNESDAY 10:00 A.M. JANUARY 27, 2021 <br />Board members present via Webex: Chairman Brett Wachsmith; Vice- <br />Chairman Laura Osiadacz; and Commissioner Cory Wright. <br /> <br />Others via Webex: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Patti Johnson, <br />Solid Waste Director/Interim Maintenance Director/Project Manager; <br />Kady Porterfield, Event Center Director and 1 member of the public. SPECIAL MEETING BOWLING ALLEY RFP SOLID WASTE <br />At 10:00 a.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened a Special Meeting to <br />consider an Agreement for KVEC Facility Restoration and an RFP for <br />the Bowling Alley. <br /> AGREEMENT BELFOR USA GROUP, INC EVENT CENTER <br />Vice-Chairman Osiadacz moved to approve a Professional Services <br />Agreement between Kittitas County and Belfor USA Group, in the <br />amount of $121,489.00 for restoration projects at the Kittitas <br />Valley Event Center beginning February 1, 2021. Commissioner Wright <br />seconded. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS BOWLING ALLEY SOLID WASTE <br />Patti Johnson, Solid Waste Director/Interim Maintenance <br />Director/Project Manager, reviewed a draft Request for Proposals to <br />be accepted from private, nonprofit, or public organizations <br />interested in leasing, leasing-to-own, or purchasing for the <br />development or redevelopment of the Bowling Alley properties located <br />on the Kittitas Valley Event Center grounds. <br /> <br />Vice-Chairman Osiadacz noted how the Bowling Alley had been <br />purchased before the current Board members were in place and that it <br />is a part of the Fairgrounds Master Plan. She felt whatever it is <br />used for, it should complement the Event Center. Commissioner <br />Wright said he was worried that if the County were to sell the <br />facility, the County would not have as much say on what it’s being <br />used for. He said the community has expressed their desire to <br />retain at least a few lanes of the bowling alley for use. <br /> <br />The Board said they would like to create a committee to review and <br />score the proposals and it be made up of least 6 people including <br />Patti Johnson; a representative from the City of Ellensburg; Kady <br />Porterfield, Event Center Director; and a private citizen from each
