JANUARY 21, 2021 <br /> <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith, Vice-Chair Laura <br />Osiadacz and Commissioner Cory Wright. <br /> <br />Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Lisa Young, <br />Human Resources Director; Judy Pless, Budget and Finance Director; <br />Clay Myers, Sheriff; Christopher Horner, DPA III; Doug Mitchell, DPA <br />III; Chris Whitsett, Inspector; Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; <br />Jerry Pettit, Auditor. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION ADMIN LEAVE COVID – 19 FOLLOW UP COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />At 9:02 a.m. Vice-Chairman Laura Osiadacz opened a Special Meeting <br />as a follow up to the Meeting with the Sheriff from January 13, <br />2021. She stated that the Board was in receipt of a breakdown from <br />Deputy Horner that outlined the options, risks and caselaw <br />pertaining to the request from the Sheriff. <br /> <br />The Board determined after discussion with Staff that they would be <br />comfortable with the approach that this is a Sheriff’s Policy and if <br />he wanted to have “Paid Reassignment” to be used not when and <br />employee is sick, but when an employee must self-isolate due to <br />exposure risk of COVID-19, that it would be sufficient. <br /> <br />Ms. Young also reviewed that there appears to be a proposal from the <br />Biden Administration that may allow for federal leave that they can <br />get reimbursed for. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 9:13 a.m. <br /> <br />KITTITAS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />DEPUTY CLERK OF THE BOARD KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Mandy Buchholz Brett Wachsmith, Chairman <br />
