BACKGROUND: David Moore has applied for an irrigation franchise to install irrigation pipe along Badger Pocket Road. The proposed franchise is to install a 10" irrigation pipe for 1160' along Badger Pocket Road to a pump station located on Mr. Moore's property servicing a pivot utilized by Mr. Moore. Upon approval of the irrigation franchise, a right of way permit will be required to conduct the proposed work. The Franchise Application is complete, and the appropriate application fee has been collected. INTERACTION: Public Works RECOMMENDATION: Set a public hearing on February 16, 2021 at 2:00 pm and advertise accordingly, to consider an irrigation franchise with David Moore along Badger Pocket Road. It will then turn approximately 45 degrees and headNE through Dave Moore property to an existing pump station point in his field. Kooy's Irrigation will be installing the pipe. Dave Moore will be hiring an excavator company to do the trench work. Currently pvc pipe is hard to get so as soon as the pipe comes in we would like to start digging and installing this pipe line. Our goal is to have it completed by March 31, 2021 We will be laying the pipe in the county ditch with a minimum cover of 30". We will have to dig out the current ditch to get that amount of cover. Work schedule for Davi Moore We plan on having this project completed by March 31, 2021, We will be starting on this as soon as all permits are completed and weather permits.
