COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON

REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY 9:00 A.M. JANUARY 11, 2021
Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith; Vice Chairman Laura
Osiadacz and Commissioner Cory Wright.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Julie
Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Taylor Crouch Deputy Clerk of the
Board I; Jerry Pettit, County Auditor and Urban Eberhart, KRD
Manager.
REGULAR MEETING OFFICE STAFF MEETING COMMISSIONERS
At 9:00 a.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened the Office Administration
meeting.
CALENDAR WEEK AT A GLANCE COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed their weekly calendar.
PAF/VOUCHERS REVIEW OF PAF’S & VOUCHERS COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners approved and signed County
Employee Personnel Action forms and vouchers.
CORRESPONDENCE LOG REVIEW OF CORRESPONDENCE LOG COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed the weekly Correspondence
Log, a listing of all incoming mail and correspondence for the week
ending January 8, 2021.
APPOINTMENT PUBLIC LANDS ADV. COMMITTEE COMMISSIONERS
Commissioner Osiadacz moved to reappoint Anita Boyum, Rory Savage
and Gary Berndt to the Kittitas County Public Lands Advisory
Committee, for a three-year term effective immediately and ending on
December 31, 2023. Commissioner Wright seconded. Motion carried 3-0.
APPOINTMENT FRED SCHNEBLY – KRD COMMISSIONERS
Commissioner Osiadacz moved to acknowledge and approve the Chair’s
signature on a letter to Fred Schnebly appointing him to the KRD
Board of Directors Division No. 3 effective immediately, noting that
he would be required to run for election in the fall of 2021.
Commissioner Wright seconded. Motion carried 3-0.

DISCUSSION FACEBOOK WEEKLY POSTS COMMISSIONERS
The Board determined for the week of January 11, 2021 they would
post on their Facebook Page the BoCC’s editorial they did with Dr.
Larson that went out in the Daily Record; Press Release that has the
Q&A about the Vaccine and then share contact information for the
citizens to reach out to the legislators and ask them to represent
and advocate for the County.
REVIEW DEPARTMENT HEAD ASSIGNMENTS COMMISSIONERS
The Board noted that they took 2020 off from meeting one on one with
their Department Heads, but met at the end of the years. There was a
desire to bring back the one on one meetings. The Board reviewed the
Departments and discussed reasons for what made sense on who would
be assigned to each Commissioner for 2021. The 2021 Department Head
assignments are as follows: Commissioner Brett Wachsmith will
oversee the Solid Waste/Maintenance; KVEC and Airport. Commissioner
Osiadacz will oversee the Public Health; HR and CDS. Commissioner
Wright will oversee the DPW, I.T. and WSU/Noxious Weed.
REVIEW COMMISSIONER COMMITTEE’S COMMISSIONERS
Staff provided copies of the current committees that the
Commissioners serve on. The Board reviewed them and made changes for
2021, some of which follow Chairmanship or are changes that reflect
adjustments to allow other Board members an opportunity to be a part
of a different Committee.
OTHER BUSINESS/GENERAL UPDATES
There were general updates on meetings & conversations that the
Board participated in, individually over the past week.
