Regular Meeting
MONDAY 1:30 PM December 28, 2020
Board members present via WebEx: Chairman Brett Wachsmith and
Commissioner Cory Wright.
Others via WebEx: Mike Flory, Pat Nicholson, and Jessica Miller
Community Development Services; Mark Cook, Arden Thomas, Nicole
Ogan and Candie Leader, Public Works; and three members of the
public.
At 2:05 pm Chairman Brett Wachsmith opened the Community
Development Services Study Session.
2018 CODE CYCLE UPDATE
CDS Building Official Mike Flory presented the 2018 Code Cycle
update for the 2018 International Code updates with the
Washington State amendments. Due to COVID, the new cycle
adoption date was extended and will occur on February 1, 2021.
The biggest impacts we are going to see financially to builders
is in the energy and mechanical codes. Fire Marshal Pat
Nicholson presented proposed amendment changes to Chapter 14.04
of the Building Code. A draft of the Code Cycle update will be
run by the Homebuilders Association and the builder's groups and
then brought back to the Board of County Commissioners.
