AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: January 5, 2021
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to Ratify the Public
Works Director's Signature on an Agreement with the
Treasurer's Office for Water Metering Collection Fees.
BACKGROUND: Recently, Public Works (PW) briefed the Board on our
desire initiating an agreement with the Treasurer's Office
collecting annual water metering fees. The Board
authorized the Director's signature on the agreement and
formal action is now required ratifying the Director's
signature.
INTERACTION: Public Works and the Treasurer's Office.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution to Ratify the Director's signature
on the water meter fee collection agreement with the
Treasurer's Office.
HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works and one original to the
Treasurer's Office.

RESOLUTION NO. 2021 -
RATIFY THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR'S SIGNATURE ON A WATER METER
FEE COLLECTION AGREEMENT WITH THE TREASURER'S OFFICE
WHEREAS: Kittitas County Code 13.40.030 requires all new domestic groundwater use to be
metered and users pay an annual metering fee; and
WHEREAS: The water metering program is managed by the Department of Public Works; and
WHEREAS: The Department of Public Works has negotiated an agreement with the
Treasurer's Office enabling the Treasurer to collect required metering fees for the
Public Works Department; and
WHEREAS: The Board of County Commissioners directed the Public Works Director's
signature on the fee collection agreement with the Treasurer's Office;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the
best interest of the public, does hereby ratify the Public Works Director's signature on the water
metering fee collection agreement with the Treasurer's Office.
