AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: January 5, 2021
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Acknowledge the awarded grant between Kittitas
County and the Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice.
BACKGROUND: Kittitas County Corrections Center has been awarded this grant for
$600,000 from the Office of Justice Programs to provide improved treatment for inmates
with diagnosed substance use disorders. These funds will be received over three years
and will be used to develop a working partnership with a community-based provider of
(MAT) Medication-assisted-treatment for inmates with addition and other issues.
Treatment and counseling programs that began in the jail will be handed off for ongoing
outpatient treatment after a jail sentence is completed.
INTERACTION: The awarded grant has been reviewed and approved by the Kittitas
County Prosecutor’s Office.
RECOMMENDATION: Request to Acknowledge the awarded grant between Kittitas
County and the Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice.
HANDLING: Return one signed original to the Sheriff’s Office.
