12/29/2020 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON WEBEX SPECIAL MEETING <br /> TUESDAY 2:00 P.M. DECEMBER 29, 2020 <br />Board members present via WebEx: Chairman Brett Wachsmith; Vice- <br />Chairman Laura Osiadacz; and Commissioner Cory Wright. <br /> <br />Others present via WebEx: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Mark <br />Cook, Public Works Director; Taylor Crouch, Deputy Clerk of the <br />Board I and Josh Fredrickson, Engineer. <br /> <br />Kittitas County is currently in Phase 3 and in person participation <br />is prohibited. The public was encouraged to join the meeting by <br />joining a WebEx event online. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING LYONS ROAD SPEED PUBLIC WORKS <br />At 2:00 p.m. CHAIRMAN WACHSMITH opened a Public Hearing continued <br />from October 20, 2020 to consider a speed reduction on Lyons Road <br />and to Amend Kittitas County Code Section 10.08.020 Speed Limits. <br />He noted the record was open. <br /> JOSH FREDRICKSON, ENGINEER reviewed a Staff Report and recapped <br />information from the prior Public Hearing which was held on October <br />20, 2020. He explained how the speed study and their evaluations <br />resulted in maintaining the existing 50 MPH speed limit. He said <br />they had reached out to the representative of the petition following <br />the prior Public Hearing to let them know they could provide <br />additional comments but said there has not been any additional <br />comments provided at the time of hearing. <br /> THERE BEING NO ONE REQUESTING TO TESTIFY, THE PUBLIC PORTION OF THE HEARING WAS CLOSED. COMMISSIONER WRIGHT moved to deny the petition to lower the speed <br />limit on Lyons Road from MP 0.00 to MP 1.49, and for the speed limit <br />to remain at 50 MPH. CHAIRMAN WACHSMITH seconded. <br /> COMMISSIONER WRIGHT indicated there was no data to support changing <br />the speed limit at this time. <br /> <br />Motion carried 3-0. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
