COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON WEBEX SPECIAL MEETING TUESDAY 8:30 A.M. DECEMBER 15, 2020
Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith; Vice-Chairman Laura
Osiadacz and Commissioner Cory Wright. (via Webex)
Others: Taylor Crouch, Deputy Clerk of the Board I; Julie Kjorsvik,
Clerk of the Board; Patti Johnson, Solid Waste Director/Interim
Maintenance Director/Project Manager; and Amy Cziske, Treasurer
SPECIAL MEETING COURTHOUSE ADVISORY COMMITTEE COMMISSIONERS
Patti Johnson, Solid Waste Director/Interim Maintenance Director/
Project Manager asked the Board for some formal direction on the
Courthouse Advisory Committee.
Commissioner Wright shared a document he put together as a rough
draft of committee outcomes and expectations. The idea was that the
Committee would look at options regarding a new Courthouse, then
make a recommendation to the Board. Commissioner Wright asked the
Board of they would be willing to hire a consultant to help with the
planning.
Commissioner Osiadacz agreed with Commissioner Wright’s outline, but
stated she wished to see the committee work on community outreach as
well.
Amy Cziske, Treasurer asked to make sure her office was included in
the planning. She said her Office will staff/clerk this Committee.
The Board gave direction to Director Johnson to work with legal to
amend Resolution 2020-051 and to develop an RFP for a consultant for
this project. The Board will continue to work on recruitment for the
7-member committee, and it will be brought before the Board again on
a Monday Admin. Meeting sometime in January 2021.
