KITTITAS COUNTY <br />AIRPORT DEPARTMENT <br />BoCC Meeting December 15, 2020 <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: 12-15-2020 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Approve a Resolution Amending the Airport Advisory <br />Committee Charter <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: The Airport Advisory Committee (AAC) has been in the <br />process of reorganization over the past few months. A <br />Reorganization Sub-Committee was organized by <br />Commissioner Wright to revise size and scope of the AAC. <br />Per those meetings a document was created as a reference <br />to develop a new Airport Advisory Committee Charter and <br />draft By-Laws. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION: The Amended Charter is a culmination of several meetings <br />between the Airport Staff, Reorganization Sub-Committee <br />and Commissioner Wright over the last two months. This <br />charter is designed to help define appropriate size and <br />review criteria within the prevue of the AAC. The <br />amended charter also specifies the responsibility of the <br />Director or Airport Operations to relay AAC <br />recommendations on matters under AAC review to the <br />BoCC via staff reports. Airport Staff believes this amended <br />charter will provide a solid foundation for a productive and <br />purposeful AAC/Airport Staff relationship. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: Airport Staff has discussed this process with the <br />Reorganization Committee and the AAC. Airport Staff has <br />also worked with the Prosecutors office under Prosecutor <br />Request # 49131 <br /> <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Airport Staff is recommending the approval of the <br />resolution amending the Airport Advisory Committee <br />(AAC) Charter. <br /> <br /> The AAC reviewed the Charter and voiced a concern about <br />not having a direct line of communication to the BoCC <br />defined in the Charter.
