AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: December 15, 2020
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Set a Public Hearing for January 5, 2021 at 2pm local
time, to consider a countywide telecommunications franchise with
Spectrum Pacific West, LLC, an indirect subsidiary of Charter
Communications, Inc.
BACKGROUND: Spectrum Pacific West, LLC (Charter Communications) contacted
Public Works staff to work on a franchise renewal for countywide
telecommunication. Staff has been working with the Prosecuting
Attorney's Office on updates to the franchise and both parties have
come to an agreement on changes proposed. The franchise
agreement will be for a ten (10) year period and will be revaluated
at the end of said term.
Spectrum Pacific West, LLC (Charter Communications) will
execute the franchise once Board of County Commissioner
approval is obtained. The franchise will then be recorded by
Public Works staff.
INTERACTION: Public Works; Prosecuting Attorney's Office
RECOMMENDATION: Set a public hearing on January 5, 2021 at 2:00 pm local time and
advertise accordingly, to a countywide telecommunications
franchise with Spectrum Pacific West, LLC, an indirect subsidiary
of Charter Communications, Inc.
