HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution_WSDOT_Sparks RoadKITTITAS COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AGENDA STAFF REPORT AGENDA DATE: December 1, 2020 ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to Authorize the Chair’s Signature on the Quit Claim Deed to Washington State Department of Transportation for a portion of Sparks Road BACKGROUND: The Board amended its 1973 agreement with WSDOT allowing for the conveyance of a portion of Sparks Road with Resolution 2020-126. The Quit Claim Deed is prepared and is now ready for Chair signature. INTERACTION: Public Works. RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Chair’s Signature on the Quit Claim Deed to Washington State Department of Transportation for a portion of Sparks Road. HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works. Cook, Director Justin Turnbull, County Surveyor Joshua Fredrickson, County Engineer BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COUNTY OF KITTITAS STATE OF WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 2020 -_____ AUTHORIZING CHAIR SIGNATURE ON THE QUIT CLAIM DEED FOR A PORTION OF SPARKS ROAD TO THE WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION WHEREAS: The Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners and Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) agreed to work cooperatively in real estate matters associated with Interstate 90 construction in May of 1972 pursuant to Agreement GM 752; and WHEREAS: The Board of County Commissioners amended Agreement GM 752 in Resolution 2020-126 allowing for the conveyance of necessary land along Sparks Road supporting construction of current I-90 improvements by WSDOT; and WHEREAS: The conveyance of a certain portion of Sparks Road is now necessary completing I-90 proposed improvements; and NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the best interest of the public, does hereby authorize the Chair’s signature on the Quit Claim Deed conveying a portion of Sparks Road to WSDOT supporting current I-90 construction.
