COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON

REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY 9:00 A.M. NOVEMBER 16, 2020
Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith; Vice-Chairman Laura
Osiadacz; Cory Wright, Commissioner. (via WebEx)
Others Via WebEx: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Mandy
Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Taylor Crouch, Deputy Clerk
of the Board I and two members of the public.
REGULAR MEETING OFFICE STAFF MEETING COMMISSIONERS
At 9:00 a.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened the Office Administration
meeting.
CALENDAR WEEK AT A GLANCE COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed their weekly calendars.
PAF/VOUCHERS REVIEW OF PAF’S & VOUCHERS COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners approved the County Vouchers and
PAF’s.
CORRESPONDENCE LOG REVIEW OF CORRESPONDENCE LOG COMMISSIONERS
The Correspondence Log for the week ending November 13, 2020 was
presented.
DIRECTION BOARDS COMMITTEES COMMISSIONS COMMISSIONERS
Chairman Wachsmith announced he had been informed by Public Health
that they could no longer staff the County’s Behavioral Health and
Recovery Advisory Board (BHRAB). He stated that Rich Elliott offered
to Clerk the BHRAB meetings but the County has a Resolution that
states all County Board’s, Committees and Commission’s must be
clerked by a County Employee and comply with the OPMA. The Board
directed Commissioner Wachsmith to go back to Public Health and
notify them that the Committee will remain Clerked out of their
Department either by the current Clerk or another County Employee
and the few hours a month of time it takes can be charged to the
General Fund.

DISCUSSION MEETING SCHEDULING COMMISSIONERS
Commissioner Wright stated he would like to get a consensus of the
Board before proceeding with scheduling Public Meetings that
constituents request. He stated that at times a member of the public
may want to meet about something the rest of the Board is not ready
to meet about and while they can meet, he feels the Board should
meet with County staff prior to bringing others into the
conversation so they have a full understanding. Commissioner
Osiadacz stated that she will still plan to do research and fact
gathering but agrees to having a consensus of the Board prior to a
meeting to hold the meeting. Chairman Wachsmith agreed.
DISCUSSION FACEBOOK WEEKLY POSTS COMMISSIONERS
The Board determined for the week of November 16, 2020 they would
post on their Facebook page, an COVID-19 Updates/Press Releases; and
later in the week would post about the Umptanum closures and the
campaign that it going around to #recreateresponsibly.
OTHER BUSINESS/GENERAL UPDATES
There were general updates on meetings & conversations that the
Board participated in, individually over the past week.
