FORMATION OF KITTITAS COUNTY JOINT CONTROL BOARD NO. 1
WHEREAS: The Kittitas Reclamation District and West Side Irigating Company submitted a
petition to the Kiuitas County Board of County Commissioners to form a joint
control board dated September 9, 2020; and
WIIEREAS: Kittitas County Department of Public Works and Prosecuting Attorney Office
staff concur the petition satisfies requirements in law; and
WHEREAS: Washington State Law contemplates formulation of a joint irrigation control
board in Revised Code of Washington 87.80; and
WHEREAS: The Board of Kittitas County Commissioners did hold a public hearing on
Thursday, November 12,2020 at 9:00 am to hear public testimony regarding the
formation of a joint control board between Kittitas Reclamation District and West
Side Irrigating Company; and
WHEREAS: The Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners have determined that the
formation of a joint control board is in the public interest;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Kittitas County Board of County
Commissioners, after due deliberation and in the best interest of the public, does
hereby approve the creation of the j oint control board, designating it to the Kittitas
County Joint Control Board No. 1.
