A RESOLUTION ALLOWING FOR PROVISION OF CHILD CARE AT LAZY F ON
AN EMERGENCY BASIS
WHEREAS: a state of emergency has been declared, nationally, statewide, and locally due to
the outbreak of the coronavirus; and
WHEREAS: childcare is a necessary component of both our emergency and economic
response to that emergency; and
WHEREAS, the Lazy F Ranch is set up to provide such childcare but is not zoned
appropriately for such activity; and
WHEREAS, RCW 38.52.070(2) gives the board of county commissioners certain broad powers
in times of emergency for “providing emergency assistance to the victims of such
disaster”.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that, pursuant to the emergency authority granted to
the county board of commissioners in RCW 38.52.070(2), the Lazy F Ranch is hereby allowed to
provide child care on its premises during the duration of the current declaration of emergency
related to the coronavirus outbreak. This grant of a special emergency use does not relieve the
Lazy F Ranch of, nor substitute for, any state licensing requirements for provision of childcare.
