AGENDA DATE: November 3, 2020
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to Designate the Public
Works Director as Applicant Agent and County Engineer
as Alternate Applicant Agent Representing the County for
future Federally Declared Disasters
BACKGROUND: Resolution 2018-123 designates the Public Works Director
as Applicant Agent and Finance Manager as Alternate
Applicant Agent. Recently hired County Engineer
Fredrickson recently represented a mid -west city through a
federally declared flooding disaster. The two individuals
have served various jurisdictions through six federally
declared disaster events. Taking this action now positions
the County for immediate response to any future federally
declared disaster events.
INTERACTION: Public Works, Sheriff's Office (Emergency Management
Division)
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution to Designate the Public Works
Director as Applicant Agent and the County Engineer as
Alternate Applicant Agent.
HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works.

RESOLUTION NO. 2020 -
DESIGNATING KITTITAS COUNTY APPLICANT AGENT AND ALTERNATE
APPLICANT AGENT FOR FUTURE PRESIDENTIAL DISASTER DECLARATIONS
WHEREAS: Resolution No. 2018-123 designated Mark Cook, Public Works Director, as the
Applicant Agent and Liz Remeto, as Alternate Applicant Agent responding to
federally declared disasters impacting Kittitas County; and
WHEREAS: The Board of County Commissioners desires having Mark Cook, Public Works
Director, continue being designated as the Applicant Agent on behalf of the
County and Joshua Fredrickson, County Engineer be designated as the new
Alternate Applicant Agent for said future Presidential Disaster Declarations; and
WHEREAS: These Representatives are authorized on behalf ofKittitas County to execute all
contracts, certify completion of projects, request payments, and prepare all
required documentation for funding requirements following a federally declared
disaster: and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the
best interest of the public, does designate Mark Cook, Public Works Director, as the Applicant
Agent and Joshua Fredrickson as Alternate Applicant Agent representing the County in all future
Presidential Disaster Declarations.
