RATIFY THE CHAIR'S SIGNATURE ON LETTER TO ECOLOGY PROVING PUBLIC
HEARING NOTIFICATION
WHEREAS: The Kittitas Reclamation District and West Side Irrigating Company submitted a
petition to the Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners to form a joint
control board; and
WHEREAS: Washington State Law contemplates a joint inigation control board in Revised
Code of Washington 87.80; and
WHEREAS: On October 12,2020 the Board of County Commissioners set a Public Hearing
for November 12,2020 to consider the petition submitted by the Kittitas
Reclamation District and West Side Irrigating Company; and
WHEREAS: RCW 87.80.050 requires that a copy of the public notice for the hearing be mailed
to the Department of Ecology at Olympia at least thirty days prior to the date of
the hearing;
NOW' THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the
best interest of the public, does hereby authorize the Chair's signature on the October 12, 2O2O
letter to the department of ecology providing notification of a public hearing to consider
formation of ajoint control board.

Dear Ms. Verner,
Please accept this letter and accompanyrng public notice regard,ing a public hearing
scheduled for November tz, 2o2o to consider a petition by the Kittitas Reclamation
District and West Side Irrigating Company to form a joint control board in Kittitas
County, WA. As specified in RCW B7.Bo.o5o, the attached notice will be published in
the official newspaper for Kittitas County. RCW B7.Bo.o5o also requires that a copy of
the notice be mailed to the department of ecology at Olympia at least thirty days prior to
the date of the hearing. This letter is provided pursuant to this requirement.
On September tt, 2o2o, the Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners received a
petition from the Kittitas Reclamation District and West Side Irrigating Company,
seeking to form a board ofjoint control for the purposes enumerated in RCW B7.Bo.oro.
The November tz, 2o2o public hearing will be held at 9:oo am local time at the
Commissioner's Auditorium, 2o5 West 5th Avenue, Room 1o9, Kittitas County
Courthouse, Ellensburg WA.
