ADOPTING THE PUBLIC WORKS OCTOBER 2O2O ORGANIZATIONAL CHART
AND POLICIES OF THE LEGISLATIVE AUTHORITY
WHEREAS: Washington State details the creation and functions of the County Road
Administration Board (CRAB) atRevised Code of Washington (RCW) Chapter
36.78; and
WHEREAS: CRAB is empowered to oversee actions of the County Road Engineer through the
issuance of "Standards of Good Practice" at RCW 36 78.020; and
WHEREAS: It is the duty of the County Engineer to organize the road department in
accordance with the policies of the county legislative authority as defined in
Washington State Administrative Code Chapter 136-50-051; and
WHEREAS: Said organization is required by CRAB satisfying in part requirements for
meeting "Standards of Good Practice"; and
WIIEREAS: Kittitas County Department of Public Works recently hired a full time County
Road Engineer and the Road Department is now updating County Road Engineer
duties associated with Public Works Department divisions and operations;
NOW' TIIEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the
best interest of the public, does hereby adopt the October 2020 Public Works Department
organizatronal chart and associated policies ofthe county legislative authority.
