KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: October 20, 2020 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Hold a Public Hearing to consider a Speed <br />Reduction on Lyons Road and Amend Kittitas <br />County Code Section 10.08.020 Speed Limits <br />BACKGROUND: Kittitas County Department of Public Works <br />received a neighborhood petition on July 22, 2020 <br />to conduct a speed study and consider a reduction <br />of speed on Lyons Road between Wilson Creek <br />Road and Naneum Road (50 MPH to 35 MPH). <br />The speed study was conducted, and staff is now <br />presenting the findings for consideration. <br />INTERACTION: <br />Public Works. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Hold a Public Hearing on October 20, 2020 at 2:00 <br />pm to consider a Speed Reduction on Lyons Road <br />and Amend Kittitas County Code Section 10.08.020 <br />Speed Limits and receive public testimony. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works. <br />ATTACHMENTS: Ordinance; Engineer's Report. <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark Cook, Director. <br />
