2020-10-08 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON WEBEX SPECIAL MEETING <br /> THURSDAY 9:00 A.M. OCTOBER 8, 2020 <br />Board members present: Chairman, Brett Wachsmith; Vice-Chairman <br />Laura Osiadacz & Commissioner Cory Wright. <br /> <br />Others: Taylor Crouch, Deputy Clerk of the Board I; Tristen <br />Lamb, Public Health Administrator; Mark Larson, Health Officer; <br />Candi Blackford, Chief Administrator; Katie Odiaga, Public <br />Health Technician, and 3 members of the public. SPECIAL MEETING BOH APPOINTMENT COMMISSIONERS <br />At 9:02 a.m. Vice-Chairman Osiadacz opened a Special Meeting to <br />consider appointing the recommended applicant from the Special <br />Purpose Committee on the vacant Board of Health position. <br /> <br />Tristen Lamb, Public Health Administrator reviewed the Staff <br />Report and the application review process to the BOCC. The <br />Special Purposes Committee recommended that the BOCC appoint <br />Deanna Utley to the BOH. <br /> <br />Commissioner Wright asked about the backgrounds of the <br />applicants. Ms. Lamb stated all applicants represented a wide <br />variety of professions in the community. Ms. Utley has <br />background with the community and represents the medical field <br />as well. <br /> <br />Vice-Chairman Osiadacz stated that it was important for the BOH <br />to represent the diversity of the community. She asked the Board <br />to consider re-interviewing the top 3 candidates as a Board. <br /> <br />Chairman Wachsmith stated he has worked with Ms. Utley before <br />and was comfortable moving forward with the recommendation from <br />the Special Purposes Committee. <br /> <br />Commissioner Wright moved to appoint Deanna Utley to the vacant <br />position on the BOH. Chairman Wachsmith seconded. <br /> <br />During discussion Commissioner Wright stated he appreciated the <br />work of the committee, and that Ms. Utley brings a wider <br />perspective to the table and that she will serve the community <br />well. Vice-Chairman Osiadacz stated in many counties the BOCC
