BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION <br />NO._______________ <br />A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE DISTRIBUTION OF THE 2020 TOURISM-RELATED,SMALL-SCALE MUNICIPALITY-OWNED CAPITAL PROJECTS GRANT FUNDS <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County imposes a lodging tax assessed on the sale or charge made for furnishingsof lodging according to R.C.W. 67.28.180 and R.C.W. 67.28.181; and <br />WHEREAS: In accordance with the aforementioned R.C.W. 's a Lodging Tax Advisory Committee hasbeen established; and <br />WHEREAS: In accordance with R.C.W. 67.28.1816, lodging tax revenues may be used, directly orindirectly through a convention and visitor bureau or destination marketing organization <br />for supporting the operations and capital expenditures of tourism-related facilities owned <br />or operated by a municipality; and <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County has an approved Tourism Infrastructure Plan; and <br />WHEREAS: The County, through the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee has established a grant <br />application and review process to consider proposals for using such funds; and <br />WHEREAS: The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee made a recommendation to the Board of CountyCommissioners that $100,000 be allocated for this grant process this year, though more could be <br />expended if deemed appropriate; and <br />WHEREAS: The Board of County Commissioners agreed with the Lodging Tax Advisory <br />Committee's recommendation; and <br />WHEREAS: The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee met in an open public meeting July 16, 2020 at3:00 PM via virtual meeting and on August 20th, 2020 at 3:00 PM via virtual meeting to <br />consider the applications, review presentations from the applicants, rank them according <br />to the rating card provided, and develop funding recommendations for consideration by <br />the Board of County Commissioners; and <br />WHEREAS: All the applications submitted are properly formatted, meet the qualification requirements, and received at least 75 points on the rating card. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That Kittitas County hereby awards the 2020 TourismRelated,Small-Scale Municipality-Owned Capital Projects as follows: <br />Small-Scale Capital Projects: <br />City of Cle Elum - Washington State Horse Park $50,000.00 <br />City of Cle Elum - Disc Golf/Trail Counters $19,300.00City of Ellensburg - Downtown Parks $50,000.00 <br />Kittitas County Event Center - Announcer Stand $50,000.00 <br />Kittitas County Public Lands Advisory Committee- Yakima River Access $47,618.00 <br />ADOPTED this _______ day of ______________, 2020 <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br /> _________________________________________ <br /> Brett Wachsmith, Chairman <br /> _________________________________________ <br /> Laura Osiadacz, Vice Chairman <br /> _________________________________________ <br /> Cory Wright, Commissioner <br />ATTEST: <br />CLERK OF THE BOARD <br />_____________________________ <br />Julie Kjorsvik
