2020-08-24 Minutes 1 Information Technology <br />Commissioners’ Minutes <br />Kittitas County, Washington <br />Commissioners’ Conference Room <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />Monday 11:00 AM August 24, 2020 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chair Brett Wachsmith, Vice-Chair Laura Osiadacz, Commissioner Cory Wright <br /> <br />Others: IT Director Jim Goeben, Public Health Special Programs Coordinator Kasey Knutson, Application <br />Development Manager Zane Kinney <br /> <br />Regular Meeting Information Technology <br />Meeting called to order at 11:00 AM. <br /> <br />Discussion/Decision KittitasEmergency.org website Maintenance, Continued <br />Discussion was continued from the 8/11/2020 10:30:00 AM BoCC Office Admin Meeting regarding <br />keeping KittitasEmergency.org site up-to-date with relevant content or moving it into the county’s <br />public website on its COVID-19 emergency page. The board directed IT to copy content from <br />KittitasEmergency.org to https://www.co.kittitas.wa.us/response/202003-covid19/, place a redirect so <br />users visiting KittitasEmergency.org would automatically be redirected to <br />https://www.co.kittitas.wa.us/response/202003-covid19/, and to suspend the KittitasEmergency.org <br />site. <br /> <br />Other Business <br />Commissioner Wright asked Mr. Goeben to brief the board on his plans for IT Staff working from home <br />so the board could weigh in on the subject. Mr. Goeben said IT staff will continue to work from home, <br />with the exception of one Service Desk Technician, unless their physical presence is required for the <br />work, until the State and local health official’s recommendation to stay home if possible and to maintain <br />social distancing is removed. He explained that almost all IT work is performed remotely, whether from <br />the office or home, so increasing the risk to staff’s health isn’t prudent. The board provided no direction. <br /> <br />Commissioner Wright ask for IT to provide training on COMPAS due to its recent updates. Mr. Goeben <br />said Jason Eklund, GIS Coordinator, has scheduled a public webinar and a press release announcement <br />has been drafted.
