KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: September 1, 2020 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of Interlocal <br />Agreement with the State of Washington Administrative Office of the <br />Courts (AOC) <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: The Washington State Legislature enacted statutory responsibility to <br />create services for youth and families called BECCA (named after the <br />child who died without the availability for court interventions prior to <br />the statute.) Those services include At Risk Youth (ARY), Children <br />in Need of Services (CHINS) and Truancy. The AOC administers <br />those services through annual grant agreement with Juvenile Courts. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: The Prosecutors Office has reviewed the agreement and draft <br />resolution in accordance with Kittitas County process. The Presiding <br />Judge of the Superior Court reviewed and signed the agreement after <br />legal review. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of Interlocal Agreement <br />with the State of Washington Administrative Office of the Courts. <br /> <br />HANDLING: The Interlocal Agreement with Presiding Judge’s signature will be <br />provided to AOC for their signature and return. A copy of the <br />original Resolution will go to AOC. Upon AOC’s response with the <br />Interlocal Agreement an original will be provided to the Clerk of the <br />Board.
